My cousin's daughter got baptized, and she asked me to make the CTR cake, and include black to match her decor. It was a 2-layer 8 inch, & 6 inch red velvet with cream cheese frosting.
*Those macaron's match so cute too :)
Owls! So fun! I love the trees & owls on this cake. It's a double layer chocolate on chocolate 8 inch. Serves 20. It was for a good friend's daughter's first birthday.

Birthday's

I did this ladybug cake for my friend's daughter's 1st birthday. I love the eyelashes! 8 inch square, double inch, with the ladybug cake which would feed 8. Total servings: 30

McKenna LOVES birdies, so I thought I'd do a birdie cake for her 2nd birthday. 2 layer 8 inch chocolate on chocolate.
this was just a small 6 inch, but I love the roses. She brought me the tinker bell to center it around. Strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream.

Addie had a pool party, her first friend party. I love doing shaped cakes. I love the colors that this turned out to be. She kinda didn't get it when she saw it the morning of her birthday, not understanding that the flip flops was her cake :)
My brother Jeremy is a huge Chicago Cubs fan, so my sis-in-law asked me to do this cake for his big 30th party. 2-layer white with cookies and cream buttercream.

First Wedding cake

My cousin McKenzie got married in June, and I was able to do her cake. She wanted it simple, my Aunt Marlene did the flowers so we had fun adding them to the cake. Her flowers were wildflower, I think it turned out so pretty

Matt's Birthday

I had the idea for this cake for Matthew last year, but never ended up doing it. I love it! He's so obsessed with everything and anything 'apple', I thought it was perfect for him. It was fun to do something different! His favorite, chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream.

St. Patty's Day!

Kristi Wilkins and I have been talking cakes, and both have been getting into them. This was one we decided to do together. It was a challenge because of how tall and thin it is, but it was fun to do. The girls LOVED it!

Some fun birthdays!

So here's what I came up with when Ellie wanted a pirate cake and party! She wanted cupcakes for her friends, and cake for the family party. Kind of a fun variation on princess! Ellie wanted birthday sprinkle cake with white buttercream frosting.

This was a cake I made for my sis-in-law Camie. I'm pretty ready for spring! I tried to do more 3d flowers that turned out pretty cute. This was a white cake with cookies and cream frosting. YUM!

baby blessings

The last weekend of January, my niece Logan was blessed, as well as a great friend's son Owen. I made both of these cakes for them, it was great to show me I can do two in a weekend! I thought for a minute that it would be so fun to have twins to have these cakes there together!!

December Cakes

This was a cake for my Sis-in-Law Erin who turned 30 on the 31st! She just had a baby so has been reading so much lately that my brother asked me to incorporate books into it somehow. I tried to change up my usual polka dots and this is what came! Double Layer Chocolate Chip Cake with Chocolate Buttercream filling.

We had Matt's family over for Christmas Eve, so we made a fun Christmas present cake, with cakes. It's chocolate cake with peppermint buttercream.

A close-up of the present cake

For teacher gifts this year I made them each a 4 inch chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.
My cousin's daughter got baptized and I had seen a similar cake, but wanted to make a smaller version.

Surprisingly with how busy December is, I ended up doing a lot of cakes! I found every excuse to practice.....
